Stadio Olimpico

The Stadio Olimpico (Italian: Stadio Olimpico – “Olympic Stadium”) is a stadium located in Rome, the capital of Italy, in the Foro Italico area. Construction of the stadium began in 1928 and was completed in 1936 with a capacity of 70,634, and it served as the venue for the 1960 Rome Olympics, as well as the 1987 IAAF Athletics Championships and the 1990 FIFA World Cup. The stadium hosted the European Champions Cup finals in 1977 and 1984 and the Champions League finals in 1996 and 2009. It has regularly hosted competitions from the Golden League and its successor, the Diamond League, since 1998. Total capacity – 70,634
