Stoke City Football Club is a football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. The club, which is believed to have been founded in 1863 under the name "Stoke Football Club", is considered the oldest professional football club in the world after Notts County. Some claim, however, that the club was founded five years later, in 1868. Stoke City, known as The Potters, are playing in the Premier League for the 2015–16 season. The 28,384-seat Britannia Stadium has been the team's home ground since 1997. The team's kit consists of a red and white striped shirt and white shorts.
