Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Haifa is an Israeli football club from the city of Haifa, playing in the Israeli Premier League. The club was founded in 1913, and is one of the oldest clubs in the top league in the Land of Israel (participated in the inaugural season 1931/1932). Since 1992, it has been managed by businessman Yaakov Shahar, who serves as the club's president. The club also includes youth teams, boys and children, and soccer schools. The club's permanent home uniform color is green, and over the years, the white color has also been incorporated into it. From 1955 to 2014, the team played its home games at Kiryat Eliezer Stadium. Starting from the 2014/2015 season, the team plays at Sami Ofer Stadium. The club won most of its titles starting in the 1980s, which made it one of the leaders in Israeli football. The club has won 15 Israeli championships, six state cups, five Toto cups and four Champions League cups. It has also achieved many achievements in European competitions: it is the first Israeli club in the history of Israeli football to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League (in the 2002/2003 season) and the first to qualify for this stage of the competition for the second time (in the 2009/2010 season), and the only one to qualify three times[2] (again in 2022/2023). In addition, it is the only club to qualify for the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup (in the 1998/1999 season). The club is an associate member of the European Club Association.
