The 2026 FIFA World Cup (English: 2026 FIFA World Cup; Spanish: Copa Mundial de la FIFA de 2026; French: Coupe du monde de la FIFA de 2026) will be the 23rd FIFA men's World Cup, scheduled to take place in the summer of 2026. The tournament will be held in 16 cities in three North American countries: the United States, Mexico and Canada, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final taking place in the United States only. This tournament will be the first to feature 48 teams. The bid by the United States, Mexico and Canada beat a bid by Morocco during a vote at the 68th FIFA Congress held in Moscow. It is the first World Cup since the 2002 World Cup to be held in more than one country, and the first ever to be held in more than two countries. Mexico, which previously hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cups, will become the first country to host the World Cup three times. The United States previously hosted the 1994 World Cup.
