Maccabi Tel Aviv is an Israeli football club from the city of Tel Aviv, considered one of the leading football clubs in Israel and playing in the Premier League. The club was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest clubs in the top league in Israel when it participated in the inaugural season, and since 2009 it has been owned by the Jewish-Canadian billionaire Mitchell Goldhar. The club is a full member of the European Clubs Association. Maccabi Tel Aviv is the most decorated team in Israeli football. The team leads the table of national championship winning teams with 23 championships and the table of state cup winners with 24 trophies, of which seven were taken in the double season (championship and cup) and one in the treble season (championship, state cup and Toto Cup). The team also leads the table of Toto Cup winners for the Premier League, with seven wins. Maccabi Tel Aviv has also won the Asian Cup for clubs twice, and is the only team in Israel to have played in the first league in all its seasons and never been relegated to the second league. Bloomfield Stadium is the home stadium of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The team's colors are yellow and blue. The team's most prominent nicknames are "Maccabi" and "The Yellows".
